Why is Mars called the Red planet?  Because its soil has iron oxide rust particles in it. The sky on Mars looks red because its winds blow this reddish dusty soil into its sky's atmosphere.  Let's plant our own Mars garden with red plants & flowers, red moon dust, red rock, and perhaps a red creature as well! Come explore this vast new world with us! This program is for teens & tweens entering grades 5 & up in September.  Sign-up begins on Monday, July 8th and can be done in person at the Teen Services Desk, at 201-529-7323 x 224, or at www.mahwahlibrary.org.
