"Say it ain't so, Joe!"  It has been 100 years since eight members of the Chicago White Sox were accused of intentionally losing the 1919 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for money from a gambling syndicate led by Arnold Rothstein.  The baseball scandal rocked the nation and left chaos in its wake. Disillusioned, America turned its back on the national past-time.  And it took a kid from the slums of Baltimore, who grew up in a locked institution known as St. Mary's Industrial Home to save the game.
