Many of our events require registration.  Registration opens for Mahwah cardholders four weeks before the date of the event.Those without a Mahwah Library card are welcome to register two weeks before the event.

    Create your very own felt sea animal! Each sewing craft kit provides everything for sewing beginners!

  • 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Creatively Yours Garden Gnome Ceramic Craft
    6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

    The craft workshop series is back in the library with a cute Garden Gnome Ceramic Craft. The instructor is Sorin Lungu from Creatively Yours a ceramic painting and glass fusion studio in Ridgewood and Tenafly. All attendees at the hour and a half workshop will get hands on experience and create their own ceramic craft. This program is offered both in person and as a take away kit. There will be a $25.00 non refundable supply fee that must be paid at the time of registration. Registration is at the Check Out Desk. Registration for Mahwah residents with a Mahwah Library card begins Friday May 27th. Non-Mahwah residents registration begins Friday June 10th . Take Away Kits can be picked up beginning Tuesday June 28th

    There’s an ocean of possibilities out there, and it’s every kid’s dream to learn magic tricks from a real magician. Well here’s your chance! Learn to perform amazing tricks with everyday objects like cards, coins, string, paper and more. Those entering grades 4 and up are welcome to join the fun!

    Take home and decorate a wooden dragon with a light inside. Markers or paint work best to decorate, we only provide the wooden dragon (the light should work as well without any extra materials).

    Get ready to be a scientist! Students will get hands on with an instructor in dissecting a pumpkin and learning about its parts. Students will also learn what germination is (seeds growing without soil) and how to germinate a pumpkin seed. As a craft- we will paint mini-pumpkins to take home (along with their pumpkin seed ready for germination).

    Get your garden ready for Spring by making a native plant seed ball that can be planted in the fall (and will bloom in the spring) and learn all about our local pollinators! (where they go over the winter, how they prepare for hibernation or migration etc) We will also pot up a dwarf sunflower seed so students can observe on their own at home, the growth process.
