Our research-based curriculum, activities, and song selection vary weekly. We use a variety of materials:shakers, dancing ribbons, drums, puppets, and a selection of mystery discovery instrumentswhich we explore during our instrument show-n-tell. Our imaginations and creativity are stimulated every class with various songs that targetdramatic play and dance. Each week we embark on a different adventure during our Adventure Song – a true highlight for the children.

Celebrate Mardi Gras with Dr. Dubious Jazz

Come celebrate Mardi Gras with us. Now in their fifteenth year at the Mahwah Library. Dr. Dubious has been performing jazz in the New Orleans and Chicago styles since 1998 in the tri-state area. They have performed at First Nights in Teaneck and Montclair and for numerous public, corporate, and private events. Among the public appearances are summer concerts in Teaneck, Bergenfield, River Edge, and New York City; street fairs and parades in Teaneck, Bergenfield, Ridgewood, and Upper Montclair; benefit performances for relief of Hurricane Katrina victims; Tommy Fox’s Public House in Bergenfield; and Summerfest, promoted by Holy Name Hospital in Overpeck Park.

Adelphi Chamber Ensemble

The Adelphi Chamber Ensemble will be performing Schubert’s String in C major D.956 and another piece. The Adelphi Chamber Orchestra is the oldest chamber orchestra in Bergen County and Northern New Jersey. It has lived up to its statement of purpose “to foster good music” from its first concert performed for the public on May 23, 1953. Members of the orchestra have formed an ensemble to perform chamber pieces for the public.
