Many of our events are now in-person and require registration.  Registration opens for Mahwah cardholders four weeks before the date of the event. Those without a Mahwah Library card are welcome to register two weeks before the event.  Check the detailed event listings for more information.

Gentle Yoga with Joan Tarrant

Join Joan Tarrant for an hour long gentle yoga. Bring your mat, blanket, blocks, tissues, water and comfortable clothes. This is a great opportunity to stretch, breathe, move, and relax together doing gentle yoga poses, then partake in a deep relaxation with Tibetan Singing Bowls during the meditation. This program is offered both in person and via Zoom. If you want to join via Zoom, registration is necessary (don’t forget to give your email address). Registration will close 24 hours before the event and we’ll send you the Zoom meeting number, password, and URL meeting link at that time.

Teens in grades 5 and up can drop in to The Inbetween to play various cool Nintendo Switch games.

Habitat for Humanity - Homework Club

Hey kids in grades 4 – 8! Do you need help getting motivated to do your homework? Do you need help understanding how to do your homework? We can help! Join us on Tuesdays at the Mahwah Public Library for the Habitat for Humanity Homework Club!

You will be guided by dedicated teen Habitat for Humanity Club members and a certified high school math teacher. Drop in, no sign-up needed!

Edward Hopper at the Whitney with Sue Altman

This fall (10/19/22–3/5/23), the Whitney Museum of American Art will be showing an important exhibit Edward Hopper’s New York. The city of New York was Edward Hopper’s home for nearly six decades, a period that spans his entire mature career and coincides with a historic time of urban development. Edward Hopper’s New York will take a comprehensive look at Hopper’s life and works through his city pictures.Artist and Art Educator Sue Altman will be discussing his life, his works, and his legacy.This program is both in person in the library and live streaming via Zoom. SAT & ACT Success Cancelled

The Mahwah Public Library is hosting SAT & ACT Success on 11/29 at 7:00 p.m. This comprehensive webinar will answer all of your questions about college entrance exams. Families will learn key differences between the SAT and ACT, the best time to start studying, keys to achieving one’s highest score, and how the SAT/ACT can impact merit aid and scholarship.
