The New-York Historical Society holds an extensive collection of historical artifacts, works of American art, and other materials documenting the history of New York and the United States. The museum is the oldest in New York City and its art holdings comprise more than 1.6 million works. An interactive children’s museum was added to the museum as part of a renovation to the historic building.
